Remembering the Present
| In this activity, adults who are studying middle level education remind themselves of what it was to be a young adolescent and to reconnect with their own development. This has been a regular activity in teacher advisories at middle school institutes for years. |
Each member of the TA will show a picture of himself or herself taken when he or she was in middle school.
As the picture is displayed, the person in the photos will describe the person in present tense.
This activity works best when the participant describes both the details of the person's life (i.e. who the person in the picture lives with, where the person goes to school, what the person's hobbies are, etc.) as well as what happens in the person's head (i.e. is worried about grades, likes to play baseball but doesn't think he is that good).
